While passing by my french door, to the front patio of my house, I fortunately noticed a warm evening light illuminating my japanese maple. I quickly grabbed my camera and tripod and ran outside before the moment passed. My luck continued as I noticed this praying mantis, about 1/2 inch in length, sitting on one of the leaves thus creating an interesting focal point.
