Nun at Angkor Thom
Angkor, Cambodia

Buddhism in Cambodia is rapidly recovering after the Khmer Rouge banned it's practice during their reign. As Buddhists abhorred violence, the KR felt its practice was the cause of their countries weakness. They especially disdained monks, feeling they were parasites living off the population, and as such less than 1,000 out of 60,000 monks survived the 44 months of the KR rule.

Cambodia

Cambodia is an amazing and unique country, with jungles, monks, temples, wildlife and wonderful people. Cambodia is slowly recovering from the mass genocide committed by the Khmer Rouge, with one-third of the population living on less than one US dollar per day.
